Our playset...

Shawn and Chase built a playset in the backyard... all that's needed now is the roof
and a few finishing touches.

~Happy Easter~

The kids and I had fun decorating eggs one day. Addie only broke 2 of them. That is definitely an improvement from last year.

The Easter Bunny came again this year.. and went a little overboard..

We went to Jamestown for Easter this year.. and finally got to see Heather.
Addie and Chase somehow conned her into playing at the park, in the cold wind.
Addie didn't want to sit next to Chase for a picture, so I had to take them separately....
All in all it was a good Easter... A good time was had by all.. easter bunnies came and went... and we made sure to give the kids a good sugar high before sending them back to daycare on Monday.

Mexico 2012

We took a family vacation to the Riviera Maya and I must say a good time was had by all. Dylon graduates this May, so we wanted to do something fun as a family before he goes off to college. It was awesome watching him experience a whole new culture, as well as his first plane ride.  Chase and Addie also came along, and I loved watching the excitement in their eyes as they realized they were flying high in the sky above the clouds.  We enjoyed the 86 degree weather, and spent plenty of time by the pool.  Chase didn't really care for swimming in the salt water as it always seemed to find its way into his mouth.. Nope he wasn't a fan of that.

I ain't no Betty Crocker!!!

Well, I think I won the award for the ugliest cake ever made, as I am sure you will agree once you see it.  Shawn turned 36 today.... so I thought the kids and I would do something special for him, and make a simple birthday cake.  A lot of thought went into this.. but then I settled for butter pecan cake with chocolate frosting and sprinkles on top for decoration.
So evidently I didn't read the directions on the cake box, as I should've waited 10 minutes to let the cake cool before attempting to take it out of the pan.  So, 9 inch round cake #1 turned into a bunch of cake crumbs that I attempted to reshape.  Then for 9 inch round cake #2, I evidently forgot about it and didn't hear the timer go off on the oven... so that sat for quite a bit longer than it should've.  That resulted in a much smaller, and harder cake... I did however, follow directions, and let that sit for the appropriate amount of time.
The big day arrived this morning when it was time to frost it... and that didn't go so well...it took the entire container of frosting to get it to stick together.... then I forgot to add the sprinkles until after it was half eaten.  Good times!!!  Sorry about the cake honey!!!
yeah.. that is 2 cakes stacked on top of one another
thought I would spice it up a bit with some decoration...
